Sweaterheads Productions Limited was formed in 1996 to develop the
Sweaterheads
Susan Docherty, the celebrated knitwear designer, has developed the
Sweaterheads
over 20 years.
In that time the Sweaterheads
concept featuring 3-D knitted models of around 20 characters,
spectacular knitted landscapes and sets, stories, songs, verse and scripts has evolved. Susan has proven
herself a first class graphic designer. She owns Susan Docherty of Alba Ltd that publish the
Sweaterheads
books and Sweaterheads
Productions Ltd set up to develop the Sweaterheads
for television.
The copyright and intellectual property for the Sweaterheads
is owned solely by Susan Docherty
2005 saw Susan's knitted world of Intarsia come alive with the publishing of the first two
Sweaterheads
books “The Unlikely Flying Object” and “Lelooni”. On an initial run these books have proved an instant hit
and orders from all over the world are still coming in. Her third book “Naebeard” is on her pins at the
moment.
The Sweaterheads
have been receiving rave reviews in many publications including Vogue Knitting.
Susan visits primary schools and nurseries regularly spreading word of The Sweaterheads, she is met with
great, enthusiasm each time from children, teachers and parents alike.

On a senior management level, Susan is supported by a Marketing Director, Liselle Barnsley. Liselle
Liselle has been involved in marketing for over 15 years and has wide-ranging experience from brand development and management, B2C, B2B, channel marketing, CRM, NPD; the list is exhaustive, you name it and Liselle has probably done it at some point in her career.
Liselle has been in Marketing since the early 1990s. An English Literature
graduate, Liselle did not initially turn to Marketing as a career. However,
it wasn't long before she was headhunted for her first marketing role by a
senior colleague looking to build a strong marketing department.
Having worked in the marketing departments for several blue chip companies,
Liselle has been lucky enough to experience many different marketing
disciplines in several major UK industries.
Channel marketing, brand marketing, lifestyle marketing, new product
development, corporate communications, public relations, new media, product
launches - the list is endless - you name the marketing discipline and
Liselle will probably have worked in it at some point in her career! A
recent position required Liselle to manage the 360 degree marketing of a
brand portfolio of over 750 different products, sold worldwide in over 30
different countries.
Liselle has now set up her own company, 'Tailored Marketing Solutions'
offering bespoke marketing services and interim marketing management.
Excited by new challenges, Liselle is delighted to be involved in The
Sweaterheads
project. |

Formed in 1994 by former BBC producer, Nick Low, Demus Productions started in radio, quickly building a portfolio of a regular 170 radio
programmes a year for the BBC. These range from weekly programmes
for BBC Radio Scotland’s (Janice Forsyth Show, Be-Bop To Hip-Hop, and Scotland's Choice Cuts with Jackie Bird), to documentary series for BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 2 and NPR in America. 2005 saw Demus move into comedy with three series for BBC Radio Scotland, Sabotage, Franz Kafka Big Band, and The Lewis Lectures.
The Company’s television output consists of two documentaries for BBC Scotland's Ex-S Strand, one for Scottish Television's “This Scotland”, and two series of five episodes “Proud Parents” for Channel 4, alongside two music videos and a television interview feature with Dionne Warwick for American
television.
Demus has it's own dedicated radio recording studios, 3 pro-tools set ups and Avid and Final Cut Pro editing facilities.
Demus have been working with Susan Docherty throughout 2005 to bring the TV concept of The Sweaterheads
to fruition. They produced the Sweaterheads
audio books.

Just for fun in a moment of madness Susan knitted her whole team of graphic
illustrators, designers, photographer and animator. Including
Liselle (marketing) and Diane (the company secretary). Susan is in the centre of the picture knitting on cocktail sticks.
